A gabled house sits between bare deciduous trees at golden hour. The classic home is bathed in warm dusk light with the Coorong lagoon in the background under an amber sky. Simple, archetypal architecture in a serene South Australian landscape.

It’s a harsh site so slip slop slap seek slide.  This house isn’t just sun smart, it’s dressed as a farm smart house. 

Big hat: sheltered and covered entries and exits with plenty of space to pull off boots and jackets.

Popped Collar: robust wall cladding round the back - a shield from mean, cold, wet southerlies and the afternoon winds off the Coorong.

Boots: A bit of elevation, the concrete plinth puts some space between you and the creepy crawlies.
